Pharmacometrics Africa Conference

The first Pharmacometrics Africa Conference (PMXAC-2025) will take place on 5 September 2025 in Kampala, Uganda. Following our successful hosting of the World Conference on Pharmacometrics on African soil by Pharmacometrics Africa, it is now time to build on this momentum, hence our conference theme, “Celebrating a New Era for Pharmacometrics in Africa: Building on Global Momentum.”

This meeting will follow the Digital Health Africa (DHA-2025) hybrid conference, which will take place from 3-4 September 2025. In this way, we expect increased participation at both meetings via synergies in the conference themes while using the common administrative and logistical infrastructure. The PMXAC-2025 conference will explore how best to generate evidence for African populations through pharmacometrics approaches, building on and expanding on the DHA-2025 focus on maternal and child health.
Our local hosts in Uganda, the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) at Makerere University College of Health Sciences, have a long-standing experience with health-related programmes focused on prevention, care and treatment, training and capacity development, research, laboratory services, health systems strengthening, and global health security. IDI operates in 92% of Uganda’s districts and has established collaborations with 23 African countries and nine other nations worldwide. Pharmacometrics Africa is a not-for-profit company registered in South Africa, providing a platform for open-access clinical pharmacology educational programs in partnership with local research organizations and academic groups.
