Call for Nominations: MCS SIG Secretary Position

  

The Mathematical and Computational Special Interest Group (MCS SIG) is seeking energetic and motivated nominees to serve in the Secretary position on the MCS SIG Leadership Team. The position and requirements are described in more detail below. This is a great opportunity to work with colleagues with strong interest in mathematical and computational modeling. All current members of ISoP and the MCS SIG are eligible to be nominated, and self-nomination is encouraged. We also encourage nominations and self-nominations of students and trainees. If you are nominating a colleague, please confirm that the candidate is willing to serve before submitting the nomination. After being elected and serving for one year, the Secretary then takes the role of Vice Chair for one year, followed by the role of Chair for one year.

The responsibilities of the Secretary position include:

  • Scheduling the monthly SIG steering committee meetings
  • Taking minutes for steering committee meetings
  • Drafting announcements of upcoming SIG events in coordination with the appropriate SIG working group and/or ISoP administration


The MCS SIG leadership team will review nominations for the secretary role and select at least two candidates to proceed to the general election. To be considered for this position, a CV and a short, single-paragraph introduction and motivation statement should be submitted by Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
