Mission
The PBPK Special Interest Group (SIG) under ISoP is a community for individuals from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies who have an interest in PBPK modeling and simulation. Its mission is to advance the application of PBPK modeling as a model informed drug development (MIDD)/New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) approach in translational and clinical sciences. The group fosters collaboration across sectors and promotes integration with cross-disciplinary functions, including but not limited to DMPK, clinical pharmacology, toxicology, translational medicine, formulation development, and regulatory sciences. It also facilitates communication and collaboration with pharmacometricians, QSP modelers, and other relevant modeling groups. In addition, It also aims to facilitate education, promote best practices, support new applications, and advocate for global adoption and regulatory harmonization of PBPK modeling.
Goals
- Establish and maintain a community for individuals from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies who have an interest in PBPK modeling and simulation.
- Advance the field of PBPK modeling in translational and clinical sciences through collaboration among modelers from all sectors, as well as with pharmacometricians, QSP modelers, and other relevant modeling groups.
- Advocate and facilitate global regulatory harmonization of PBPK modeling.
- Provide educational opportunities to support learning and skill development in PBPK modeling.
